• Collect seawater samples for bacterial testing to comply with vessel risk assessments for making potable water from seawater.
• Collect potable water samples from vessels to ensure drinking water is suitable for consumption.

Please note: For potable water we are able to provide pass/fail tests. Our in-house laboratory does not have accreditation for microbiological testing. If detailed analysis is required, we can collect samples and send them to an accredited laboratory for analysis.

We are Food Standard Scotland authorised Sampling Officers for the purposes of Official Control provision for classification and monitoring shellfish harvesting areas in Orkney Islands.
